Looking back

Looking back on our vacation, Zoe thinks it was a lot of fun.

Fearless

Secret Meeting

Perhaps they're working on McCain's VP selection.

Swinging with uncle Andy

Zoe plays the ponies

Beach house bingo

Mom brought an age appropriate version of bingo for Owen. He REALLY does not like losing.

The newest mule

Bubbles

It can take a lot of bubbles to get the sand off.

Owen watches

Owen studies the ocean, waiting to see if he should go in, or, perhaps, watching (from left to right) as his father, uncle, and mother, are thrown around by the waves, and he wonders about their life insurance coverage.

Owen runs from the water

The waves are coming! Happily, this time Owen got (to use his phrase) "zero wet."

Owen runs

The safest way to stay dry is to not take the chance of getting wet.

Body surfing

We totally owned the ocean.

Daddy daughter corn

Shared foot bath

Owen and Zoe found a good, albeit temporary, way to keep sand off their feet.

Corn at the beach house

Owen and Zoe enjoy corn on the front porch.

Which way is the ocean?

Beach baby

Field Trip

Owen goes to the pool with his class.

Bridgette's 40th party

What follows are some pictures from B's 40th birthday party.

The two of us.

Can you believe we've been married 10 years?

Corn girl

Zoe attacks some corn at Bridgette's birthday party.

Lisa chills well

like a fine white wine.

Dashing!

Linda looks particularly dashing, in front of our cubby of bills.

Kristi and I

celebrate Bridgette's 40th birthday.

Lisa talks!

He's got the whole world

in his hands. Imprinted on a ball.

Parrot

Owen likes to play with this finger puppet.

Finger Puppet

What's a birthday for mom without a present for Owen? Owen shows off his recently-acquired finger puppets at Bridgette's 40th party.

A boy and his axe

Rocking out

Zoe is the dancer; Owen is the band.

The underwear playtime

Zigzag Zoe

One of these things is not like the other ones

That would be Owen, the only pirate on the pirate cruise we took who brought his own costume. And wore it no matter how hot it was.

The vessel!

boarding

Owen, as a captain, prepared to board. Zoe, as a waif, needed to be guided.

Preparing for battle!

Owen was more into it.

A rare moment

In a rarity, Zoe was uncertain what she thought about her environment.

Grog together

Owen and Zoe share a nice cup of grog.

Can't hear you

Nasty pirates can't hear you. Especially when you say there's no more treasure.

Down time

Seafaring leaves many opportunities for reflection.

Encouragement

Sometimes the best pirate needs to be shown where an open spot on the observation deck.

The Hook or the Sword?

So many choices?

Owen watches the Pirate crew

Owen and his crewmates watch as the key to the treasure is found.

Happy Zoe!

Zoe is very happy! And shirtless! Can't do that too much longer!

Post Pool Cuddle

Daddy and Zoe enjoy a book after the pool.

Owen goes to the art show

Owen's class put on an art show. His teacher, Miss Jennifer, said that all the kids should dress up. I told Owen that he should dress up. He decided to dress up as a pirate (we're really bad about modifying behavior). So, here we are, on our way to the art show at Owen's school.

Owen with art

This was from the art show that Owen's class put on.
