This is from Owen's first haircut. He was really into the duck water sprayer. The lady in the background was really into him. I have no idea who she is.
She did say, however, that Owen's curly hair would never grow back curly again, and getting his haircut was tantamount to sending him off to college. B got kind of worried and maybe a little emotional (I wasn't really paying attention, and had to be "reminded" of her comment later), but, sure enough, his hair did grow back curly. B felt vindicated.
The moral, I think, is that you shouldn't listen to emotional people who are freakishly interested in your son's first haircut to the point that they stand around on their own perfectly good time to watch it and kind of insinuate that maybe you shouldn't get the haircut done at all, but rather let your child's hair grow long and natural as though he were a white guy majoring in African-American studies or something.
